Vancouver - Getting Around and Where to Stay

Weather
Late August/early September is the end of summer and one of the nicest times of year in Vancouver.  Temperatures average 25-28C during the day, but cool down to about 12-15C overnight.  Rainfall is a possibility but the majority of summer days in Vancouver are dry and pleasant.  At the end of August, sunrise is at about 6:30am and sunset at about 8:00pm.  The 5-day weather forecast can be found at the Environment Canada website.

Currency
The Canadian dollar is worth about 75% of the US dollar.  For other conversions, you can use the universal currency converter.

Airport arrivals
The Vancouver International airport (YVR) is located in the suburb of Richmond, south of the city of Vancouver.  Please let us know when you will be arriving and we will be happy to meet you at the airport.  Alternatively, a shuttle bus to downtown Vancouver leaves the airport every 20 minutes.  Car rentals are also easily available (see below).
